Job summary

New Horizon Co-op is seeking an Asset Protection Specialist for our Downtown Food Store in Grande Prairie, Alberta. You will monitor locations, conduct audits, and assist investigations to prevent theft and ensure safety.

You’ll train staff on theft prevention, respond to incidents, and support community outreach efforts with the Community Cruiser. Flexibility in schedule and travel between sites is required.

Qualifications

• Strong observation and incident response skills.
• Experience in security, loss prevention, or customer service.
• Able to travel between sites and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store locations to prevent theft, fraud, and safety issues.
• Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with loss prevention measures.
• Monitor CCTV footage and assist investigations.
• Respond to incidents at locations like theft, fuel spills, or safety concerns.
• Keep detailed incident reports and train staff on theft prevention.
• Drive and operate the Community Cruiser to assist the unhoused.
• Work with local law enforcement when needed.
