Job summary

Stream-Flo Group in Canada is seeking an Assembly Technician to support the assembly, testing and painting of gate valve products. You will work under the ATP Supervisor and ensure quality workmanship while adhering to work orders and ERP documentation.

Ideal candidates bring experience in mechanical assembly and testing, forklift is a plus, and a strong commitment to health and safety. The role offers an on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with assembly, testing and painting of valves.
• Mechanical assembly or repair background.
• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Computer skills and basic software literacy.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for time and job sheets.
• Knowledge of Stream-Flo products or similar equipment is a plus.
• Commitment to health and safety regulations and practices.
• Detail oriented with strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, stamp and test gate valve assemblies per work orders.
• Ensure assemblies and tests meet work order requirements.
• Identify non-conformances by separation and/or marking.
• Maintain workstation and equipment to Stream-Flo cleanliness standards.
• Follow work orders and process travelers; record time in ERP.
• Report machine, crane and hoist issues in maintenance logs.
• Support maintenance department and lead hand/supervisor during downtime.
• Comply with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.
• Aim for productivity and efficiency; work with Industrial Engineering for best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Reporting to the Assembly, Test and Paint (ATP) Supervisor, the Assembly Technician will be responsible for providing quality workmanship on the assembly testing and painting of Company products while maintaining high standards.

Key position functions include:

• Assemble, stamp and test gate valve assemblies in accordance with work order requirements.
• Responsible to ensure assembly and testing meet work order requirements.
• Identify non-conformances by separation and/or marking.
• Maintain work station and equipment to an acceptable Stream-Flo standard of cleanliness.
• Follow work order and process traveler requirements and fill out job sheets or record time using ERP system.
• Report all machine, crane and hoist problems in the proper maintenance logs and notify.
• Maintenance Department and/or lead hand/supervisor of a down time situation.
• Ensure compliance with Stream-Flo Group Guiding Principles in terms of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations or policies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable standards/procedures.
• Ensure processes and testing operations are performed in accordance with safety regulations and are carried out in a conscientious manner.
• Maintain an acceptable level of productivity and efficiency.
• Work in conjunction with Industrial Engineering to achieve and maintain best practices.
• Perform o ther duties assigned by Lead Hand/Supervisor.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

• Related assembly, testing and painting experience.
• Mechanical assembly/repair experience.
• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Computer skills are an asset.
• Knowledge of Stream-Flo and/or competitors' equipment would be an asset.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Detail oriented, strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
