Job summary

Stream-Flo Group in Edmonton, AB, is seeking an Assembly Technician - Gate Valve for the night shift to support the assembly, testing and painting of valve products. You will assemble, stamp and test gate valve assemblies in accordance with work orders, while recording times in the ERP system and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

• Minimum 3 years Gate Valve experience
• Strong leadership skills
• Related assembly, testing and painting experience
• Mechanical assembly/repair experience
• Forklift experience is an asset
• Computer skills are an asset
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Detail oriented, strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Assemble, stamp and test gate valve assemblies in accordance with work order requirements
• Assist nightshift supervisor to ensure shop floor needs are met
• Responsible to ensure assembly and testing meet work order requirements
• Identify non-conformances by separation and/or marking
• Maintain work station and equipment to a Stream-Flo standard of cleanliness
• Follow work order and process traveller requirements and record time using ERP system
• Report all machine, crane and hoist problems in maintenance logs and notify relevant personnel of downtime
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations or policies
• Ensure processes and testing operations are performed safely and efficiently
• Maintain productivity and efficiency
• Work with Industrial Engineering to achieve best practices
• Perform other duties assigned by Lead Hand/Supervisor

Description

Reporting to the Assembly, Test and Paint (ATP) Supervisor, the Assembly Technician will be responsible for providing quality workmanship on the assembly testing and painting of Company products while maintaining high standards.

This is a night shift position. The hours of work are 4:15 PM to 2:15 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Key position functions include:

• Assemble, stamp and test gate valve assemblies in accordance with work orderrequirements


• Assist nightshift supervisor to ensure shop floor needs are met


• Responsible to ensure assembly and testing meet work orderrequirements


• Identify non-conformances by separation and/ormarking


• Maintainwork stationand equipment to an acceptable Stream-Flo standard ofcleanliness


• Follow work order and processtravellerrequirements and fill out job sheets or record time using ERPsystem


• Report all machine, crane and hoist problems in the proper maintenance logs and notify Maintenance Department and/or lead hand/supervisor of a down timesituation


• Ensure compliance with Stream-Flo Group Guiding Principles in terms of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations orpolicies


• Ensure compliance with all applicable standards/procedures


• Ensure processes and testing operations are performed in accordance with safety regulations and are carried out in a conscientiousmanner
