Job summary

Stream-Flo Industries Ltd. in Edmonton, AB is seeking an Assembly Technician for the Gate Valve line on a night shift. You will perform assembly, testing and painting of gate valve components to quality standards.

Hours are 4:15 PM to 2:15 AM, Monday through Thursday. You will support the night shift supervisor, ensure work orders are followed, and maintain clean, safe work stations and ERP records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years Gate Valve experience.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Related assembly, testing and painting experience.
• Mechanical assembly/repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, stamp and test gate valve assemblies in accordance with work order requirements.
• Assist nightshift supervisor to ensure shop floor needs are met.
• Responsible to ensure assembly and testing meet work order requirements.
• Identify non-conformances by separation and/or marking.
• Maintain work station and equipment to Stream-Flo standard of cleanliness.

Description

Reporting to the Assembly, Test and Paint (ATP) Supervisor, the Assembly Technician will be responsible for providing quality workmanship on the assembly testing and painting of Company products while maintaining high standards.

This is a night shift position. The hours of work are 4:15 PM to 2:15 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Key position functions include:

• Assemble, stamp and test gate valve assemblies in accordance with work orderrequirements


• Assist nightshift supervisor to ensure shop floor needs are met


• Responsible to ensure assembly and testing meet work orderrequirements


• Identify non-conformances by separation and/ormarking


• Maintainwork stationand equipment to an acceptable Stream-Flo standard ofcleanliness


• Follow work order and processtravellerrequirements and fill out job sheets or record time using ERPsystem


• Report all machine, crane and hoist problems in the proper maintenance logs and notify Maintenance Department and/or lead hand/supervisor of a down timesituation


• Ensure compliance with Stream-Flo Group Guiding Principles in terms of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations orpolicies


• Ensure compliance with all applicable standards/procedures


• Ensure processes and testing operations are performed in accordance with safety regulations and are carried out in a conscientiousmanner


• Maintain an acceptable level of productivity andefficiency


• Work in conjunction with Industrial Engineering to achieve and maintain bestpractices


• Perform o ther duties assigned by Lead Hand/Supervisor

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

• Minimum 3 years Gate Valve experience


• Strong leadership skills


• Related assembly, testing and painting experience


• Mechanical assembly/repair experience


• Forklift experience is an asset


• Computer skills are an asset


• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety


• Detail oriented, strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment
