Job summary

MacLean Engineering & Marketing Co Limited in Collingwood, ON seeks a Production Supervisor for the Assembly/Materials area. The role manages a skilled team, ensures timely work orders, and drives productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include labor variance control, recruitment participation, cross-department coordination, safety and quality compliance, and performance appraisals. Shift: 4x10h afternoons; benefits and professional growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in supervisory or lead hand role.
• Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing is an asset.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to motivate and work well with others.
• Effective communication at all levels of the organization.
• MS Word/Excel/Outlook and MRP/ERP experience is an asset.
• Trade experience or certification preferred.
• Training in Health, Safety and the Law is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Motivate, mentor, and engage a team of employees with varied skill set.
• Maximize utilization and efficiency, and control labour variance, by ensuring overall skillset is correctly distributed amongst a variety of conflicting priority work tasks.
• Communicate clear goals, expectations and instruction to team members and management peers.
• Review labour bookings to ensure accuracy and identify root causes of variances.
• Participate in the recruitment process as required.
• Work closely with Materials to ensure parts availability for timely work orders.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering to address non-conformances promptly.
• Monitor workflow and KPIs, and report on performance.
