Job summary

MacLean Engineering, founded in Ontario, is seeking a Lead Hand – Mechanical (Sub-Assembly) at our North Bay facility (125 Ferris Drive) to support the Production Supervisor by coordinating safety, quality and daily production activities. You will monitor work orders, assign tasks by priority, coach staff, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to address non-conformances.

This role operates on a day shift with opportunities to contribute to a safety‑driven, quality-focused manufacturing

Qualifications

• Five (5) + years’ experience in metal fabrication or heavy equipment manufacturing.
• 1-2 years leadership experience is an asset.
• Computer literate (MS Office, AX Dynamics, and other application software)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety, quality, production and staff in assigned areas.
• Monitor priorities, assign work orders and track progress.
• Coach and mentor workers to improve skills and efficiency.
• Work with Engineering to resolve non-conformances and DVLP issues.
• Maintain a safe working culture and ensure equipment safety and readiness.
