Job summary

Marwood International in Tillsonburg, Ontario, is seeking an Assembly Process Engineering Specialist to design and build assembly processes, tooling and equipment for new and existing programs in the automotive sector.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive, strong SolidWorks CAD skills, and hands-on ability to lead tooling integration, 3D printing tasks, and continuous improvement initiatives across plants. Day shift with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or recognized trade certificate with automotive experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant automotive industry experience.
• Experience designing processes/products for manufacturing, preferably automotive.
• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks and CAD for assembly tooling design.

Responsibilities

• Develop assembly processes meeting internal and external customer requirements using standard processes.
• Provide mechanical design and concept development using SolidWorks.
• Assist with robotic and mechanical component selection for automated systems.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure controls align with Marwood standards.
• Install mechanical systems for tooling integration and equipment cell builds.
• Maintain 3D printing tasks and rapid prototype tooling/fixtures.
• Champion design changes from Production and Advanced Manufacturing groups.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and increase capacity.
• Fulfill all other related duties.

The Assembly Process Engineering Specialist assists with the design and build of assembly process, tooling, equipment, handling of parts for new and existing programs with compliance to Marwood Design Standards

Responsibilities:

• Assists in developing assembly processes that satisfy all internal and external customer requirements using existing process standards and outside processing requirements.
• Provide mechanical design and concept development using Solidworks design software.
• Assist with recommendations for robotic and mechanical component selection during design of Automated Systems

• Participate in design team reviews to ensure that design controls are effective and follow Marwood standards.
• Install mechanical systems as they relate to tooling integration and equipment cell builds
• Maintain and control the related 3D printing tasks
• Rapid prototype tooling and fixtures as required
• Champion design changes from Production and Advanced manufacturing group
• Assist continuous improvement initiatives within the plants to improve the processes, costs and capacity
• All other relevant duties

Key Requirements:

• College Graduate in Engineering and or Recognized Skilled Trade Certificate of Qualification with experience within automotive industry
• Minimum 5 of years in relevant automotive industrial experience
• Design experience of processes and products for manufacturing, preferably in an automotive industry
• Excellent knowledge of Solid Works, CAD software and designing assembly tooling for a process
