Job summary

Malach Metal and Machining in Winnipeg, Manitoba is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our hands-on manufacturing team. You will program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills, interpret drawings, and optimize setups for precision parts.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Set up and operate manual mills and lathes as required.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining requirements.
  • Determine practical machining sequences, tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding methods.
  • Design or modify fixtures, soft jaws, and workholding solutions when required.
  • Complete machine setups, program prove-outs, and first-piece verification.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specifications.
  • Monitor machining processes and make appropriate adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, workholding, dimensional, and machining concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to improve setup time, cycle time, tooling life, quality, and repeatability.
  • Maintain accurate setup, program, and production information.
  • Follow Malach safety procedures, machine-specific work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other team members.
