Job description

Unifin International, a Wabtec Company in London, Ontario, is an electric equipment cooling company focused on the power generation and transmission markets. Who will you be working with?

You will be a member of the Assembly Department, reporting to the Production Supervisor and working alongside 41 experienced production team members.

As an assembler, you will learn and gain experience to become an experienced assembler and eventually move into a more senior role. You should be highly motivated, willing to listen and learn, take guidance from senior employees, and willing to put in the time and effort to become a future leader in assembly.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Working in a fast‑paced manufacturing assembly environment.
  • Work collaboratively with 2–4 team members on the assembly line.
  • Understand and execute direction from the supervisor to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Work alone on various tasks as needed.
  • Deal with assembly issues and stressful situations while meeting tight critical deadlines.
  • Operate overhead and jib cranes safely.
  • Be responsible for your own safety and ensure your team is safe as well.
  • Use various wrenches, impact gun, grinders, measuring tape, ply bars, hammers, and other manufacturing tools.
  • Plan your time to efficiently assemble products with speed and accuracy.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to correctly assemble components and products.
  • Interpret drawings and other written instructions to accurately assemble products.
  • Inspect components and assemblies for defects and ensure that all assembled products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe working environment.
  • Record production and operational data accurately and maintain logs of product assembly.
  • Work with welded and machined parts ranging from 1 lb to 250 lbs.
  • Possess hand and eye coordination to assemble various fasteners.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Load or unload trucks using a forklift, when required.
  • Move material to other departments, when required.
Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception. Safety glasses, steel‑toed safety shoes, and hearing protection must be worn for the entirety of the shift.

  • Wages: First six months – probation – $31.23; After probation – full rate – $34.70.
