Job summary

Clearpoint Health Network’s New Westminster Surgical Centre is seeking a Temporary Nurse Manager - Perioperative to provide clinical and operational leadership. You will guide nursing staff, manage staffing and workflow, and address patient-care and operational concerns in a collaborative, regulatory-compliant environment.

This leadership role offers exposure to perioperative leadership, with potential for extension based on needs and performance.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration in British Columbia and in good standing.
• Experience in an OR, perioperative, ambulatory surgical or similar clinical environment.
• Strong clinical judgment and accountability.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative approach to working with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Formal Nurse Manager experience is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for the centre.
• Lead, coach and support nursing and clinical staff.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, performance and day-to-day operational needs.
• Address clinical, patient-care and operational concerns.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Support patient safety, quality improvement, infection prevention and accreditation requirements.
• Ensure compliance with BC regulatory and professional standards.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient flow, efficiency and centre operations.
• Liaise with health authorities and other stakeholders as required.
