CEWE, a BC-based civil construction company, is seeking an Asphalt Raker Person to join our crew. The role focuses on safe and efficient asphalt placement, grading, and teamwork on active sites.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of asphalt experience and a valid Class 5 license, with willingness to work overtime and in varied weather conditions. Join us for a hands-on opportunity on road projects across British Columbia.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with asphalt.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Rake asphalt to a high standard.
  • Complete and document daily pre-trip equipment inspections.
  • Operate raking equipment to place and level paving materials.
  • Maintain proper grades and slopes.
  • Work with the crew to meet project timelines.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist with other paving tasks as needed.
  • Follow company safety, health, and environmental policies and complete all work safely.
  • Work outdoors on active construction sites.

About us.

We are a privately owned and local general contractor, specializing in road building and civil construction and have been operating in British Columbia for over 70 years. Jack Cewe Construction Ltd. (CEWE) provides all aspects of road construction including excavation, placing gravel, base and sub-base, underground utility installation, concrete slabs, sidewalks and curbs, and of course asphalt paving and milling.

Asphalt Raker Person

We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Raker Person to join our civil construction team. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and experienced working collaboratively with crews to deliver work in accordance with project plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rake asphalt to a high standard.
  • Complete and document daily pre-trip equipment inspections.
  • Operate raking equipment to place and level paving materials.
  • Maintain proper grades and slopes.
  • Work with the crew to meet project timelines.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist with other paving tasks as needed.
  • Follow company safety, health, and environmental policies and complete all work safely.
  • Work outdoors on active construction sites.
WHAT YOU BRING

Required experience: 3+ years working with asphalt.

Required certification: Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Additional strengths:
  • Experience with asphalt paving; asphalt raking is an asset.
  • Ability to operate raking equipment and maintain grades and slopes.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Able to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to work overtime, weekends, nights, early starts, and other flexible hours as needed.
  • Must meet all safety requirements, use approved PPE, and be clean shaven where a respirator seal is required.
