About The Role

Lafarge is seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to become part of our dynamic and fast-paced operations. As an Asphalt Plant Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe production of asphalt, ensuring that all operational processes meet industry standards and company expectations.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Be fully trained in the operations and capability of running an Asphalt plant, ideally Astec.
  • Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and deal effectively with people using a facilitative approach, including scaling, ticketing, and assisting in asphalt orders.
  • Understand general knowledge and intermediate computer skills.
  • Communicate and promote safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in alignment with Company standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by addressing issues, questions, or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Continuously communicate with plant operators, truckers, quality control, and dispatch.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety policies in all work environments and promote a culture of safety.
  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education : High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional Education Preferred : Mechanical trades or construction.
  • Field of Study Preferred : Maintenance.
  • Required Work Experience : Minimum of 5 years of Asphalt operations / production-related experience.
  • Required Training / Certifications : Heavy Equipment Operator.
  • Required Technical Skills : Heavy machinery / equipment experience.
  • Additional Requirements : Ability to run mixing operations, physical capability for heavy lifting, operate and maintain heavy equipment, ensure production quality, monitor KPIs, complete daily reports, and work overtime, including night shifts and weekends. Adherence to safety protocols and proper PPE use is mandatory.
