Job summary

CNIB Deafblind Community Services seeks a Facilitator, Training and Development to design and deliver training that builds staff skills and aligns with organizational goals. You will supervise training staff, coordinate onboarding, mentorship, and apprenticeship activities, and partner with the Manager to implement curricula in both virtual and in-person formats.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in ASL and ProTactile communication.
  • Understanding Deafblind culture and inclusive practice.
  • Lived Deafblind experience strongly preferred.
  • Facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate with all staff levels.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive adult learning.
  • Familiarity with LMS and training tech tools.
  • Self-directed, organized, and detail oriented; multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to supervise and support staff daily.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training sessions, onboarding modules, and professional development workshops in virtual and in-person settings.
  • Utilize ASL and ProTactile methods for accessible delivery aligned with Deafblind culture.
  • Coordinate apprenticeship, mentorship, and onboarding programs as designed by the Manager.
  • Manage training logistics: scheduling, communication, attendance, and follow-up.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for training projects.
  • Reinforce learning with coaching and practice sessions.
  • Maintain and update training materials and facilitator guides.
  • Support collection of feedback, assessments, and participation data for evaluation.
  • Maintain training records and LMS administration.
  • Identify operational challenges and communicate risks to the Manager.
  • Model inclusive, culturally responsive facilitation grounded in Deafblind values.
  • Support onboarding, mentoring, and staff development; observe, provide feedback, escalate when needed.
