Job summary

Sensity in Sudbury, ON is seeking a Part Time Intervenor to support people who are deafblind, helping with communication and daily living so they can live independently. You will work in home and community settings, applying ASL/SEE to relay information and empower individuals.

This role requires a college diploma in an Intervenor for Deafblind Persons or related fields, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to train.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or related human services field such as DSW/SSW/CSW/PSW.
  • Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviours.
  • Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
  • Communication in ASL or SEE.
  • Requires a valid driver's license Class G and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Support communication and day-to-day living for individuals with dual sensory impairment.
  • Relay information using ASL/SEE and other techniques.
  • Assist with daily living activities including personal care.
  • Support with goal development and program activities.
  • Ensure documentation and records are complete.
