Paracel Laboratories Ltd. in Mississauga is seeking an Asbestos Analyst to join our on-site team. You will analyze asbestos samples using polarized light microscopy (PLM) and phase contrast microscopy (PCM) under supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing asbestos air samples, maintaining QA/QC per ISO 17025, and supporting lab operations. The role demands attention to detail, dexterity, and willingness to work extended hours.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Geology, Biology, or a related field.
Experience with asbestos characterization by PLM and/or PCM would be an asset.
Familiarity with GLPs and/or ISO 17025 would be an asset.

Responsabilités

Prepare and analyze asbestos air samples using PCM.
Identify, quantify asbestos content using PLM/PCM.
Prepare fungal and/or bacterial materials in a Level 2 Biohazard lab setting.
Extended periods working at the microscope.
Extensive use of computers to manage workflow and data entry.
Coordinate sample analyses and data review based on priority and turnaround times.
Maintain QA and QC programs per ISO 17025 and SOPs.
Assist with daily lab support including maintenance, calibration, supplies, and cleaning.
Work extended hours and weekends as required.
