Job summary

Downright Demolition is seeking an experienced Asbestos Abatement Technician to join our hands-on team for hazardous material removal projects. You will work with field crews to safely remove asbestos-containing materials in regulatory compliance, consistently applying safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous asbestos abatement experience is required.
  • Valid asbestos abatement certification is required.
  • Current respirator fit test is required.
  • Valid CSTS certification is required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performing asbestos abatement and removal on residential and commercial projects.
  • Setting up and maintaining containment areas and negative-air environments.
  • Wearing and properly using required PPE and respiratory protection.
  • Safely removing, handling, packaging, and disposing of asbestos-containing materials.
  • Following all applicable safety procedures, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Using hand tools and equipment safely and properly.
  • Completing required documentation and following site procedures.
  • Working closely with Foremen, Supervisors, and other crew members.
  • Supporting general demolition and site cleanup when required.
  • Maintaining a professional and respectful attitude with coworkers, clients, and other trades on site.

We work on everything from residential and commercial demolition to hazardous material removal and large‑scale projects. Our crews are hardworking, dependable, and take pride in leaving every jobsite safer and cleaner than they found it.

We’re looking for an experienced and certified Asbestos Abatement Technician to join our team and play an important role in safely and professionally completing asbestos abatement projects.

The Role

As an Asbestos Abatement Technician, you’ll work alongside our field teams to safely remove and dispose of asbestos‑containing materials in accordance with applicable regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.

This is a hands‑on position for someone who takes safety seriously, pays attention to detail, and isn’t afraid of physical work.

  • Fall Protection certification
  • AWP (Aerial Work Platform) certification
  • Previous clean demolition, remediation, or hazardous materials experience
