Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CWB certificate or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints for custom armored vehicle fabrication.
  • Weld and assemble metal components for armored vehicle structures.
  • Inspect welds for quality, remove spatter, and ensure clean, strong joints.
  • Prime and seal weld spots to prepare for finishing.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment based on engineering requirements.
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
  • Use metal-shaping machinery including brakes, shears, straighteners, and bending machines.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components.
  • Weld in multiple positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
  • Determine material weldability and ensure proper bonding.
  • Operate pre-set welding, brazing, and soldering machines for fabrication and repair tasks.
