Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) seeks an Arena Attendant to maintain an ice rink and dressing rooms, ensuring equipment is organized and in proper order. You will greet visitors, control access, and respond to inquiries on-site.

The role supports member and family recreation, prioritizing safety and customer service. A high school diploma with CPR/First Aid and rink experience are required; bilingual ability is an asset.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and some years experience in a related field.
  • Or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Current CPR and basic First Aid qualifications
  • Experience in ice rink maintenance
  • Experience in operating ice rink equipment
  • Experience in providing customer service

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ice rink and dressing rooms, organize equipment.
  • Greet visitors, manage facility access, answer inquiries.
  • Patrol the facility to ensure rules and safety.
  • Ensure safety of visitors and equipment.

THE ROLE

As an Arena Attendant with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, you will be part of a team proud to provide safe, quality arena facilities to members of the Canadian Armed Forces community. You will take satisfaction seeing them at play and enjoying the facilities.

Daily, you will ensure the ice rink is maintained, dressing rooms are ready and equipment is organized and in proper working order. You will greet visitors, manage access to the facility and answer customer inquiries. You will patrol the facility to ensure rules and regulations are being followed and equipment and facilities are safe for all those that visit.

Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • High school diploma AND some years experience in a related field.
  • (OR An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience)
Experience
  • Current CPR and basic First Aid qualifications
  • In ice rink maintenance
  • In operating ice rink equipment
  • In providing customer service
Competencies

Language Requirements

English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Other Information
  • Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).
  • This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
  • This is a seasonal position with an anticipated term of October – July.
  • As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
