Area Supply Attendant (Casual)

BC Clinical & Support Services

Surrey, BC (Surrey Memorial Hospital)

Under the direction of the Stores Supervisor or the Logistics Coordinator, this position is responsible for stock maintenance, distribution, and data recording functions.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Counting, recording, and entering the status of departmental medical/surgical supplies using computer systems.
  2. Performing return functions as per established procedures.
  3. Delivering and restocking medical/surgical supplies to departments following quotas.
  4. Completing routine records and documentation for supplies received and delivered.
  5. Entering requisitions into the computer system.
  6. Cleaning carts, shelves, and rotating stock.
  7. Maintaining a clean and organized storeroom.
  8. Performing clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and data entry.
  9. Assisting with inventories and cycle counts.
  10. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 10 plus six months' recent related experience or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous-specific mandates, anti-racism, and cultural safety.
  • Understanding of systemic racism and Indigenous health disparities.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and commitments such as the TRC Calls to Action, UNDRIP, and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Core Competencies:

  • Understanding of Indigenous-specific and systemic racism in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health and commitment to anti-racism initiatives.
