Area Supply Attendant (Casual)

Under the direction of the Stores Supervisor or the Logistics Coordinator, this position is responsible for stock maintenance, distribution, and related data recording functions.
What you'll do
- Count, record, and enter the status of departmental medical/surgical supplies using computer systems or handheld devices.
- Perform return functions as per established procedures.
- Deliver and restock/put away medical/surgical supplies to departments following established quotas.
- Complete routine records, including documentation for non-stock supplies received in the system, and deliver to the appropriate department.
- Enter requisitions into the computer as required.
- Clean carts, shelves, and rotate stock in stores and assigned areas.
- Maintain the storeroom in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and data entry and retrieval.
- Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Grade 10 plus six months' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of Indigenous-specific mandates, systemic racism, and Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility, including a demonstrated understanding of their impact on social and health contexts.
- Understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments related to Indigenous rights and anti-racism initiatives, including relevant foundational documents.
Core Competencies
- Understanding of Indigenous-specific and systemic racism within healthcare, with initiatives to promote a safe, inclusive environment.
- Awareness of the social, economic, and political realities of settler colonialism and its impacts on Indigenous Peoples, with a commitment to anti-racism and cultural safety.
Skills & Knowledge
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to perform duties.
- Commitment to ongoing learning about Indigenous issues and anti-racism.
- Foundational knowledge of social determinants of health and legislative commitments.
