Job summary

Scotiabank is expanding its Prime and Scotia Dealer Advantage portfolios in Nova Scotia. The role focuses on developing new and maintaining existing Dealer and Manufacturer Indirect Retail business, driving results through targeted marketing and effective relationship management.

You will work to deepen dealer relationships, manage a dealer loan applications/sales pipeline, and ensure compliance with bank policies while supporting growth initiatives across the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of auto retail sales
  • Completion of a post-secondary education (college or university) and/or equivalent business experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator and proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of business-related software, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word (data import/export).
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify problems and develop and execute on solving.

Responsibilities

  • Deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships and knowledge.
  • Develop and execute a marketing/calling program within dealers to hit business targets.
  • Maintain dealer satisfaction by ensuring ongoing attention and knowledge of products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory and operational controls.
  • Educate dealers on Scotiabank processes and paperwork to increase efficiency.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and joint calls to grow the relationship.
  • Understand risk appetite and conduct in day-to-day activities.
  • Improve efficiency of dealer submissions and day-to-day operations.

Contributes to the profitable growth of the Prime and Scotia Dealer Advantage portfolios, developing new and maintaining existing Dealer and Manufacturer Indirect Retail business ensuring specific goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the portfolio’s business strategies and objectives.

Accountabilities
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Develop and execute on a marketing/calling program within assigned market area of dealers to reach established business development targets by managing the volume, flow and yield of a dealer loan applications/sales pipeline; maintaining effective follow-up with existing dealers and at the same time deepening client awareness on Scotiabank’s value proposition.
  • Ensures all aspects of assigned dealers received ongoing attention to achieve dealer satisfaction as required to maintain, improve, grow and retain the relationship by maintaining current knowledge on business line’s products and services, systems, processes and skills as per Scotiabank and Automotive Finance requirements.
  • Manage work processes and expectations in accordance with the Seller Behavior Expectations, achieving the minimum standards as it pertains to both partner and non-partner dealers.
  • Implement and support ongoing customer education on Scotiabank’s processes, policies, best practices to assist Dealers to increase efficiency and proficiency when submitting paperwork.
  • Maintain deep knowledge on all bank cross sell opportunities and joint call opportunities in order to maintain, improve, grow and retain the relationship.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

Working Conditions The incumbent is out of the office most of the time conducting visits and resolving customer concerns and complaints. They work in a variety of remote offices and hotel facilities (with the exception of pandemic or similar like periods)
