Summary
We are seeking an Architectural Technologist to support our design and drafting team in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Opportunity

The Architectural Technologist will work on drafting complete home design packages from start to finish, including site plans and architectural approvals. You will interface with internal teams, municipalities, and consultants to ensure the timely progression of permit packages, engineered changes, and grading compliance.

What You’ll Work On

Team Development

• Contribute to team design reviews and process improvement discussions.
• Provide informal mentorship and feedback to junior staff members.

Project Oversight & Operational Excellence

• Prepare, update, and review architectural and site drawings for single- and multi-family homes.
• Work in ArchiCAD to produce complete permit and construction packages.
• Apply knowledge of architectural controls, zoning bylaws, engineered drawings, and grading plans to ensure compliance and minimize revisions.
• Independently manage standard plan reviews and engineered change requests for accuracy and alignment with municipal requirements.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Business Alignment

• Liaise with Sales, Estimating, and Construction teams to ensure alignment between plans and field conditions.
• Coordinate with consultants and municipalities for architectural approvals and timely permit issuance.
• Support conflict resolution for site plan issues and design discrepancies.

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate or diploma in Architectural Technology or related field.
• 2–5 years of residential drafting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to produce full sets of working drawings and modify plans with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with site grading plans, architectural controls, and municipal/engineering approval processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required; ArchiCAD proficiency preferred but not mandatory.
• Understanding of Alberta Building Code, land development standards, and municipal regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A mindset geared towards growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
