We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Technologist specializing in single family, infill and row house drafting to join our growing team! We have a full-time position available within a structured or flexible work arrangement.

Rootstock Architecture Inc. is a growing Architectural Studio registered in Alberta and British Columbia. We specialize in multi-family, high-end single family and commercial / professional projects. We are expanding our portfolio of infill and “missing middle” project work.

The Position :

Our ideal candidate would be self-driven, works well in a flexible work environment, and is a team player. You should be excited about building technologies, technical detailing, specification development, sustainability, and comfortable with managing project and consultant coordination. Revit experience is required, CAD and Sketchup experience are assets. Significant experience in single family, infill and row house drafting is a must.

We are open to candidates with relevant experience in Alberta, British Columbia and the prairie provinces.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities :

This technologist role will contribute to design development and will prepare detailed contract documents, including drawings and specifications, under the direction of senior staff within a team environment. The individual must have a thorough understanding of the processes of conceptualization, design and implementation of buildings as well as the technological aspects of building design from an engineering and construction standpoint. Qualifications and Experience :

• Architectural Technologist Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant Canadian experience in single family, infill and row house drafting
• Training in architectural technology, building technical design and construction
• Knowledge of wood-frame construction and detailing
• Strong technical knowledge and technical drawing experience with Revit (AutoCAD and Sketchup experience an asset)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with consultant coordination and project management
