Job summary

Laing Roofing Ltd. seeks a capable team member for metal roofing work on projects around Kelowna. You will read blueprints, measure, cut, and install sheet metal roofs using hand and power tools while following building codes and safety guidelines.

The role involves frequent travel to various sites, with 30–40 hours per week and a CAD 32–34 hourly wage. On-the-road work requires reliable mobility and safety awareness.

• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
• Maintain proper safety codes and procedures.

Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
Supervise other workers
Cut materials using power tools or by hand
Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
Fit and join sheet metal parts
Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
Install sheet metal flashings
Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms

Expertly applying material to the exterior walls of buildings, keeping precision and aesthetics in
mind while also working in an efficient time frame
Skillfully install everything from paper, strapping, flashing, Blueskin, window and door trim, to
posts, beams, fascia, soffit, siding, and exterior insulation
Measuring, marking, and cutting various gauges of metal
Assist Team Leads and Journeymen with various construction activities, as directed
Operating various types of lifts safely and effectively
Maintain proper safety codes and procedures
