Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking an Architectural Design Technician for Edmonton or Vancouver. This in-office role involves designing and documenting, coordinating with diverse disciplines, and visiting sites to verify conditions.

You will help prepare permit and bidding documents, develop architectural models, and ensure alignment with codes and client needs. Applicants should have a diploma in Architectural Technology, provincial certification, 2–5 years in construction, and hands-on Revit experience

Qualifications

• Two- to three-year post-secondary diploma in Architectural Technology or related field.
• Certification in Architectural Technology through a provincial association.
• 2–5 years of related experience in the construction industry.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Revit, plus AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
• A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design and documentation: collect and organize technical building information, develop documents for bidding and permits, prepare applications for approval, and produce designs using CAD and BIM tools.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, sprinkler, and other disciplines.
• Visit sites to inspect work for compliance, confirm site dimensions, and review work completed by others.
• Attend meetings with clients to provide drawing progress updates and technical input; participate in trade meetings as the design liaison.
• Review and approve sub-consultant invoices; track and manage shop drawings; coordinate detailed design information requests.
• Maintain tracking logs for shop drawings, site instructions and addenda; keep consultant contact lists.
• Collaborate with the drafting team; stay current on new design processes, building legislation, and emerging technologies.
