Job description

We’re looking for an Architectural Technologist who knows how to bring buildings to life visually. This role sits inside a busy Edmonton general contractor, working directly with project managers, estimators, and leadership to translate ideas, sketches, and construction drawings into clear 2D drawings and compelling 3D renderings.

This is not a purely technical drafting job. We want someone who understands how buildings actually go together and can communicate design intent visually—whether that’s helping a client picture their project before it’s built or helping a project team identify issues before they hit the field.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Create 2D architectural drawings and construction visuals from conceptual sketches and design direction
• Develop high-quality 3D models and renderings for presentations, proposals, and client approvals
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, and leadership to visualize projects before construction
• Assist with design development, layouts, and construction detailing
• Produce visuals that help clients understand the project scope and design intent
• Support marketing and proposal teams with renderings and graphics when needed
• Ensure drawings align with building codes, municipal requirements, and construction standards
• Identify potential design conflicts early by reviewing models and drawings with the project team

What We’re Looking For

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or related field
• 3+ years of experience in architectural drafting or visualization
• Strong experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar modeling software
• Experience producing 2D construction drawings and 3D renderings
• Understanding of commercial construction and how buildings are actually built
• Ability to take rough concepts and turn them into clear visual representations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple projects
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical team members

Nice to Have

• Experience with Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, or other rendering software
• Experience creating visualizations for client presentations or proposals
