Be the Heart of a Team That's Building Ontario's Skilled Trades Workforce

At Merit Ontario, we don't just support apprentices, we support our employees too. We believe people do their best work when they feel valued, cared for, and set up for success.

We're looking for a highly organized, detail‑oriented Apprenticeship Coordinator who enjoys working with people, keeping projects on track, and making a difference behind the scenes. If you're someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, loves staying organized, and enjoys supporting a fast‑paced team, we'd love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As an Apprenticeship Coordinator, you'll work closely with our Apprenticeship Specialists to help deliver exceptional service to apprentices and employers across Ontario. You'll play a key role in keeping our Group Sponsor Program running smoothly while supporting strategic initiatives that continue to grow and strengthen the program.

  • Supporting Apprenticeship Specialists with their assigned strategic portfolios, such as apprentice success, wrap‑around supports, OYAP, employer engagement, assessments, events, government reporting, or other workforce development initiatives.
  • Coordinating apprentice registrations, documentation, and onboarding activities.
  • Maintaining accurate apprentice and employer records across multiple systems.
  • Tracking apprentice progression, levelled schooling, training hours, certification milestones, and employer information.
  • Following up with apprentices and employers to ensure important deadlines and program requirements are met.
  • Assisting with reporting, compliance, meetings, events, and special projects.
  • Collaborating with Skilled Trades Ontario, educational institutions, employers, and the Merit Ontario team to provide an outstanding client experience.
What You’ll Bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, staying organized, and helping others succeed.

You bring:

  • 1-3 years of experience in administration, program coordination, customer service, education, workforce development, or a related field.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), digital systems, and AI tools.
  • Experience with Ontario's apprenticeship system is an asset but not required.
When you join us, you’ll enjoy:
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits from day one.
  • Access to employee supports and resources that help you thrive both personally and professionally.
  • Meaningful work that directly impacts apprentices, students, and employers across Ontario.
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and develop your career within a purpose-driven organization.
  • A supportive team that is invested in your success and well‑being.
  • A hybrid work environment that supports work‑life balance.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid work environment (3 days in the Mississauga office, 2 days remote)
  • Monday to Friday with flexible working hours
  • Occasional evening and weekend work for events
  • Some travel within Ontario may be required
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable transportation required
COMPENSATION
  • Salary: $50,000 to $65,000 (based on experience)
  • Full-time position
  • Comprehensive benefit plan
  • Vacation: 3 weeks
Ready to Make an Impact?

If you're looking for a career where your work matters, your growth is supported, and your well‑being is valued, we'd love to hear from you. Join a team that's committed to helping apprentices succeed—and committed to helping you succeed too.
