Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking Registered Apprentice Technicians who will learn on the job and progress toward a Licensed Technician opportunity. This full-time, permanent role offers a wage range of $34.99–$44.98 per hour as part of our total rewards package.

You will work with industry-leading Caterpillar equipment, receive ongoing training from experienced Technicians, and have opportunities across multiple locations in Eastern Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma
• Currently enrolled, or completion of a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Technician program

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours on the job
• Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment for customers in a timely manner
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
• Prepare service reports and documentation accurately and promptly
• Support customers with a professional, team-focused approach across Eastern Canada

Job description

Our Registered Apprentice Technicians, when not in school, will continue to learn on the job with our experienced, trusted Technicians gradually progressing to achieve a Licensed Technician opportunity.

Compensation

$34.99 - $44.98

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
• Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment for our customers in a timely and economical manner
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
• Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure our internal and external customer needs are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner in a positive, engaging environment of teamwork, career development and lifelong learning for opportunities across our business.

Must-haves for this role:
