Our client, a leading manufacturer of instrumentation, control, and low voltage power cables, is looking for an Apprentice Millwright 433A to join their growing team. The position is a permanent day shift role from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with eligible bonuses based on exams and grades.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, modification, repair, testing, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical plant manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding of CMMS programs to conduct preventative maintenance inspections and related repairs on plant equipment as directed.
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect potential failures and eliminate unplanned downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical production equipment.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with company’s health and safety rules & regulations, lockout procedures, and WHMIS guidelines.
  • Work as an integral member of the maintenance/engineering team.
  • Complete daily maintenance work orders efficiently and timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform basic MIG, TIG, and Stick welding of different metal alloys.
  • Experience with basic electrical troubleshooting and PLC is an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a 3rd or 4th year registered apprentice.
  • Capable of physical activities such as standing for long durations, bending, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Plastic industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with maintenance team, supervisors, and operators.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of CMMS module of the IFS ERP system.
  • Receptive to working overtime occasionally on weekends.
  • Motivated to meet or exceed maintenance standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

  • Personal protective equipment required at all times.
  • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
