Job summary

Dave’s Tirecraft & Service Center in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking an Automotive Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will inspect, troubleshoot and repair vehicles, perform scheduled maintenance, and advise customers on future work while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or college program completed in automotive technology.
• Knowledge of maintenance, cleaning and storage procedures.
• Familiarity with safety guidelines and OH&S regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and troubleshoot vehicles using testing equipment and work orders.
• Dismantle faulty assemblies and replace/repair worn parts.
• Reassemble, adjust and test repaired mechanisms.
• Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and tune-ups.
• Advise customers on work performed and future repair needs.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow OH&S guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking an Automotive Technician to join our team. The successful applicant must be focused, driven, and able to work in a team environment or independently. Be self-motivated and have a genuine desire to get the job done in a professional, safe/efficient and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and troubleshoot: review work orders, examine the vehicle using testing equipment, test driving vehicles
• Dismantling faulty assemblies and replacing or repairing worn or damaged parts
• Reassembling, adjusting and testing the repaired mechanism
• Performing scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups
• Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements
• Filling out/Submitting all required documentation in accurate and timely manner
• Follow all OH&S guidelines and help foster a safe work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Member of apprenticeship or completion of college program or technical training
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance, cleaning and storage procedures
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
