Job summary

Cannon Automotive Solutions in Windsor, Ontario is seeking an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to support production in a fast-paced stamping facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs and equipment modifications to ensure safe, efficient operation.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and ideally an Apprenticeship or 433A Millwright, with 3–5 years in manufacturing and rotating shifts. EOE; pre-employment background check may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship or 433A Millwright certification preferred.
• Self-motivated with good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (days/afternoons/midnights).

Responsibilities

• Maintain production machinery and facilities to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Assist with repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Modify and overhaul equipment as directed.
• Contribute to ISO 9001:2000 continuous improvement changes.
• Complete check sheets and maintenance records; report downtime.
• Prepare reports on equipment downtime and performance.
• Follow Safety Lockout procedures and keep work area clean.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Location: Windsor, ON

Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping has an immediate opportunity for an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright in our Windsor, Ontario Cold Stamping Facility. The Millwright/Machanic is responsible for supporting production. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a stamping environment, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:

• Work with experienced mechanic staff to provide maintenance support to all areas of production ensuring that both machines and facilities are maintained to operate in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist industrial mechanics to perform repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical repairs
• Modify and overhaul machinery and equipment as directed
• Contribute to implement continuous improvement changes in accordance with ISO 9001:2000
• Complete all check sheets and records as related to the Preventative Maintenance program, work orders, etc.
• Assist in the preparation of reports on machinery downtime and other reports as required
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Follow the Safety Lockout procedure
• Equipment maintenance and housekeeping
• Communicate and work effectively with work-team members and other members of the company

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven ability to learn and retain knowledge of the use of machines and instruments
• Good manual dexterity and detail oriented
• Self-motivated; must demonstrate a positive attitude
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons, midnights)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completed Apprenticeship or Certified Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A)
• Stamping equipment i.e.feed line systems experience is an asset
• 3-5 years manufacturing environment working with industrial machinery
  

The pay range for this role is $19.62/hour to $33.89/hour.
