Job summary

CEDA has an immediate opening for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic at our shop in Conklin AB. We’re a hands-on team, and you’ll learn on a variety of equipment with mentoring and a strong safety culture.

Key duties include preventative maintenance and diagnostics on vacuum trucks and pumps, with opportunities to work on hydraulic and electrical systems. You’ll grow your skills alongside Journeymen and participate in daily toolbox and safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician or higher.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's licence (non-GDL) with a clean abstract.
• Class 1 or 3 licence is an asset.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset.
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Able to provide your own tools.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on Vacuum trucks, Combos, Water Trucks, Tankers, Skid-steers and Pressure Trucks.
• Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps.
• Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts.
• Occasionally attend service calls in the field.
• Work alongside Journeyman to learn and develop your skills.
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.

We’re a small team, you’ll get to know the people as well as you know the equipment. The variety of interesting equipment with specialty components combined with the tools needed to do great work are a few reasons our shop team loves working here.What we offer:
