Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered apprentice or interest in pursuing a Heavy Duty Mechanic apprenticeship.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist journeyperson mechanics with inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy duty equipment.
  • Perform routine servicing including lubrication, fluid changes, and component replacement.
  • Support diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with site standards.
  • Complete work orders, service reports, and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, job hazard assessments, and manufacturer guidelines.

Education

Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Position Type: Full-time, Apprentice

Wage/Salary Range: Competitive hourly wage, based on experience and apprenticeship level

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday (overtime may be required)

Hours Per Day: 8 hours per day

  • Work conducted in accordance with strict safety and PPE requirements
