Job summary

AWIN Advanced Body Shop | North York is seeking an Apprentice Auto Body Technician to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. You will work under a Licensed Auto Body Technician on routine maintenance and repairs, gaining hands-on experience with luxury vehicles and premier collision centres.

Qualifications

• Registration with the MTCTU is required to work legally.
• OCOT membership is required for certification and continued employment.
• Valid Ontario G driver's license is necessary to commute to multiple shop locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform services based on general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Follow repair orders and complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Consult Shop Foreman/Estimators if additional work is needed.
• Use appropriate tools and test equipment; report faulty equipment.
• Obtain parts from Parts Department and return unused parts.
• Maintain and develop repair skills and knowledge of vehicles.
• Stay informed on regulations by bylaws and safety rules.
• Keep the shop clean and organized; perform other tasks as required.

Job Purpose:

The Apprentice Auto Body Technician works on routine maintenance jobs and repairs vehicles under the supervision of a Licensed Auto Body Technician.

Job Duties:

• Perform services based on general maintenance and minor repairs
• Perform the tasks described in the repair orders efficiently and accurately
• Contact the Shop Foreman and/or Estimators if additional work is required
• Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and report defective or poorly functioning equipment to management
• Obtain required parts from the Parts Department
• Return parts to Parts Department as required
• Maintain and develop skill levels in repair and service of vehicles
• Remain informed on Federal and Provincial Regulations and Municipal bylaws. This may include laws governing the removal of hazardous waste., etc; understand and observe all regulations and bylaws.
• Ensure that the shop is clean and tidy
• Perform other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.

Requirements:

• Registration with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
• Clean Driver's Abstract
• Ontario College of Trades membership
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
• Knowledge and use of power, machine and hand tools
• Ability to work independently or as a team, managing his or her time and work flow.
