Job summary

Nuclearinst is offering an Apprentice AME (Permanent) position in Prince Rupert, BC. This role involves conducting maintenance tasks on AW169 aircraft under the guidance of a licensed AME, as well as other responsibilities including maintaining work areas and following health and safety protocols.

The ideal candidate should be enrolled in an accredited AME program or graduate from a Transport Canada accredited program. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in English are essential.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to relocate to required base location.
  • Demonstrated experience working on rotary-wing aircraft, especially AW169.
  • Eligibility for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).

Responsibilities
  • Work efficiently alone and as part of a team to conduct scheduled maintenance tasks under the guidance of a licensed AME.
  • Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair AW169 aircraft mechanical systems under the guidance of a licensed AME.
  • Monitor and complete task cards and work cards in CAMP.
  • Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for tasks/jobs.
  • Maintain a clean and productive work area.
  • Conduct aircraft cleaning duties of interior and exterior (excluding medical biohazards).
  • Read, understand, and adhere to the Safety & Health Policy Statement, Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual, Company Policies and Procedures, and the MPM.
  • Utilize the Company reporting system to report any hazard, incident, or accident.
  • Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.
  • Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
  • Willingness to relocate to required base location.
  • Enrolment in an accredited AME apprentice program or graduate of Transport Canada accredited AME diploma program.
  • Experience working on a rotary-wing asset, ideally on Leonardo Helicopters AW-Family aircraft, particularly the AW169.
  • Demonstrated experience working on CAMP, Winair or other similar maintenance programs.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • The physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods.
  • The physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
  • The physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces.
  • The ability and willingness to undertake shift work.
  • Is comfortable working at heights.
  • Willingness to travel for 2 weeks at a time.
  • Eligibility for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • The right to work in Canada and/or have or can obtain a Canadian passport.
  • A valid driver’s license.
