Job summary

Babcock Canada is seeking an AME-trained candidate to support aircraft maintenance on CL Water Bombers and related platforms. You will maintain and service structural components and systems, using aviation tools and diagnostic equipment, while keeping precise logs of all work performed.

The role requires enrolment in an AME apprenticeship or a Transport Canada AME diploma, strong organization, and fluency in English. Travel for 2–4 weeks at a time and shift work are expected in this position.

Qualifications

• Enrolment in an accredited Structures AME apprentice program or graduate of Transport Canada accredited AME diploma program.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work in a team.
• Proficiency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Work on CL Water Bombers, Commander 690 and similar aircraft.
• Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose and repair structural and maintenance systems.
• Utilize aviation tools, computers and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
• Follow Safety & Health policies and procedures.

Expected Salary: $24.30 to $32.00

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description

• Work on CL Water Bombers, Commander 690 and similar types of Aircraft.
• Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair an aircraft’s structural integrity as well as maintenance systems.
• Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers and diagnostic equipment
• Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and the maintenance activities that were conducted.
• Carefully observe all procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task.
• Be thoroughly familiar with, and put to use, safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Use the appropriate PPE for tasks/jobs.
• Maintain a clean and productive work area.
• Work efficiently alone and as part of a team.
• Read, understand and adhere to the Safety & health Policy Statement, Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual, Company Policies and Procedures and the MPM.
• Utilize the company reporting system to report any hazard, incident or accident.
• Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.
• Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines and the MPM.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:

• Enrolment in an accredited Structures AME apprentice program or graduate of Transport Canada accredited AME diploma program
• Good organizational skills
• Proficiency in English, written and spoken
• The physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods
• The physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods
• The physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces
• The ability and willingness to travel and deploy outside of Winnipeg for 2-4 weeks at a time.
• The ability and willingness to work shift work.
• Have ability to work at heights
• Be willing and able to travel for 4 weeks at a time.
• You are eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and Controlled Goods and ITAR Clearance
• Have or can obtain a Canadian passport
• Hold a valid drivers license
