Job summary

Babcock Canada is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for third party operations in Winnipeg, MB. The role requires an M1 and/or M2 AME license and strong English communications.

You will work on CL-215/CL-415 aircraft and other assets, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems. You’ll join a team delivering defense and civil aviation support, with travel up to 4 weeks as needed, and a focus on safety, documentation, and quality.

Qualifications

  • M1 or M2 AME license is required.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, inspection, repair and troubleshooting on aircraft.
  • Maintain, adjust, test and repair mechanical or structural systems.
  • Record maintenance activities accurately and comply with safety procedures.

Description

In this role, you will:

  • Monday to Saturday dayshift based on customer requirements
  • Travel away from base to work on customer A/C
  • The schedule will vary depending on operational requirements and customer needs
  • Work on CL215/CL215T/CL415 Water Bomber Aircraft and Commander 690’s and various other customer A/C types as required
  • Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair an aircraft’s mechanical or structural systems.
  • Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and maintenance activities that were conducted.
  • Carefully observe all procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task
  • Be thoroughly familiar with, and put to use, safety procedures and safe work practices.
  • Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for tasks/jobs.
  • Follow company tool control procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and productive work area.
  • Work efficiently alone and as part of a team
  • Read, understand, and adhere to the:
    • Safety & Health Policy Statement
    • Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual
    • Company Policies and Procedures
  • Utilize the Company reporting system to report any hazard, incident or accident
  • Enter labor in the labor tracking system accurately for all tasks performed
  • Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • A valid M1 and/or M2 AME license
  • Experience with CL-215/CL-215T/CL-415 aircraft is an asset
  • Experience with Garrett Turbine powered aircraft is an asset
  • Experience with PW120 serries Turbine powered aircraft is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience working on WinAir or other similar maintenance programs
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good English, written and spoken
  • The physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods
  • The physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods
  • The physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces
  • The ability and willingness to work shift work and able to travel for up to 4 weeks at a time
  • Have ability to work at heights
  • You are eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC), AVOP and ITAR Clearance
  • Ability obtain a Canadian passport
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
