Velan, a Montreal-based industrial valves leader, seeks an Applied Machine Learning Scientist to design, deploy, and improve scalable AI/ML solutions across the organization. You will bridge data science, software engineering, and MLOps to operationalize models and ensure accuracy, governance, and trustworthy performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of MLOps and ML lifecycle management experience.
• Strong Python and R programming skills; familiar with Java or C++.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML models addressing high-value business problems.
• Build and maintain end-to-end ML pipelines (data ingestion, feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring).
• Translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate results clearly.
