Job summary

Bentley Systems in Québec (hybrid) seeks an Applied AI Engineer to prototype and validate emerging surrogate models and physics-informed AI for engineering design workflows. You will prototype, benchmark, and test tools, report clear recommendations to stakeholders, and contribute to integrating AI approaches into Bentley's products.

Qualifications

• Strong programming ability in Python.
• Experience with PyTorch or JAX.
• Solid understanding of FEM/CFD/multiphysics modeling.
• Knowledge of deep learning, surrogate modeling, reduced-order models, or optimization workflows.
• Good communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Keep track of new technologies in the field.
• Evaluate emerging simulation and AI tools through hands-on prototyping.
• Build and benchmark surrogate models against traditional FEM/CFD workflows.
• Test robustness, limitations, and failure modes of new approaches.
• Prototype hybrid pipelines (e.g., surrogate + high-fidelity validation).
• Explore integration into real engineering workflows and report recommendations.
