Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site position for an Applications Specialist located in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Applications Specialist will work closely with the sales and support teams to provide technical expertise on AXYZ CNC router systems. Responsibilities include offering application support, troubleshooting customer issues, conducting software and hardware demonstrations, and delivering training to new and existing customers. The role also involves liaising with customers to ensure seamless integration of AXYZ systems into their operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintains a clean, organized work area.
  • Perform test cuts, time studies, and demonstrations for customer materials.
  • Document and store all test parameters, CAD/CNC files, and related materials.
  • Conduct in‑person and online demos of equipment and software.
  • Support Sales with demo samples, test cuts, and time studies.
  • Deliver advanced, hands‑on machine training for operators and engineers.
  • Engage customers pre‑installation to plan and implement effective onboarding.
  • Collaborate with OEM Sales to identify training opportunities and add technical value.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics with the Sales Support Manager.
  • Assist in creating training videos, manuals, and SOPs.
  • Serve as a technical expert on waterjet and router applications.
  • Maintain records of training sessions, feedback, and results.
  • Communicate and elevate concerns as needed.
  • Test machine upgrades, collaborate with software developers, and suggest improvements.
  • Train Sales staff on machine and software usage for better customer engagement.
  • Set up and operate demo machines, provide samples, and follow marketing strategy.
  • Review and finalize training manuals and related materials.
  • Participate in trade shows and open houses (limited travel required).
  • Support Technical Support team with customer training and remote assistance.
  • Identify tools and methods to optimize table performance and minimize operational risks.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree or Diploma related to Electrical/Electronic Controls, Mechanical or related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial machinery, CNC systems, or advanced manufacturing; direct waterjet or router experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hands‑on technical training or instruction in a customer‑facing environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics into accessible instruction.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming software (e.g., IGEMS, WARDCAM) is a plus.
  • Comfortable with video production for training content (on‑camera presence, scripting, or filming).
  • Proactive, customer‑focused, and detail‑oriented, with strong coordination and follow‑through.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and handle difficult workplace situations in a calm manner.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Additional Requirements
  • A valid Canadian passport with the ability to enter US and the UK.
  • Flexibility with hours is required in order to accommodate customer trials.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
  • Able to use the computer for long periods of time.
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Able and willing to comply with all company safety rules and regulations.
