Job summary

The Applications Engineer collaborates with engineering teams to develop costed proposals, maintain customer accounts, and respond to requests for quotations while upholding Eclipse standards and culture.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, CAD proficiency, and the ability to manage budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

5+ years of automation experience (OEM)
5+ years of experience in applications engineering
University/College degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; MS Office
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical controls
Experience with CSA, ANSI and CE standards

Responsibilities

Participate in RFQ reviews, on-site or in-house
Prepare cell layout drawings for RFQs
Coordinate between mechanical, electrical, and assembly teams for concepts and cost estimates
Obtain supplier estimates for budgets and proposals
Prepare equipment layouts and deliverables lists
Write technical specifications and provide design support during projects
Ensure ISO standards are followed and timelines are met
Travel up to 30% as needed
