Weir is seeking an Application Engineer to join our hybrid team in Canada, focusing on technically sound equipment proposals and optimized selections for mining applications.

You will partner with sales to deliver customer-focused solutions, review specifications, and provide ongoing technical support across Canada, with occasional travel. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and sustainable outcomes in a global mining context.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Process, or Metallurgical fields.
• Ability to review and interpret technical specifications and develop technical-commercial proposals.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of equipment selection processes, especially pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems.

• Review customer requirements, RFQs, and challenges to develop technically sound and commercially competitive proposals.
• Perform detailed pump, valve, and piping system selections based on specs and operations.
• Collaborate with capital and aftermarket sales teams to understand customer problems and maintain clear communication.
• Assemble comprehensive technical and commercial proposal packages with cost evaluations and timely updates in systems.
• Provide ongoing technical support and review specifications for compliance, documenting exceptions as needed.
• Occasional travel across Canada to meet end users and support project delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Solution Development: Review customer requirements, RFQs, and operational challenges to develop technically sound and commercially competitive equipment proposals aligned with project schedules and customer needs.
• Equipment Selection: Perform detailed pump, valve, and piping system selections based on technical specifications and customer operational requirements, ensuring optimal fit and performance.
• Customer & Sales Collaboration: Partner closely with capital and aftermarket sales teams to understand customer problems, maintain prompt communication, and build strong relationships that adapt to changing market demands.
• Proposal Management: Assemble comprehensive technical and commercial proposal packages, including evaluation of sourcing and delivery options, ensuring accuracy in project costing and timely updates in sales pipeline systems.
• Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical assistance to customers and frontline sales teams, reviewing specifications for compliance and documenting technical exceptions where necessary.
• Travel Requirements: Occasional travel across Canada to meet with end users and support project delivery, reflecting the coast-to-coast nature of the mining industry.

What You’ll Bring

Must-haves

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical, Process, Metallurgical required
• Proven ability to review and interpret technical specifications and develop technical-commercial proposals
• Customer-facing Experience With Strong Communication And Problem-solving Skills
• Knowledge of equipment selection processes, especially pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in mining, mineral processing, or industrial equipment industries
• Familiarity with SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Prior experience in sales support or manufacturing environments
• Understanding of sourcing, delivery logistics, and project scheduling considerations

Compensation Range: $80,000 to $93,000 CAD(Depending on experience)
