itec group is seeking an Applications Engineer with a solid mechanical engineering background to develop and implement automated equipment solutions for customers in our Ontario region. You will review requirements, interpret drawings, and prepare technical proposals and cost estimates.

To succeed, you should collaborate with engineering, sales, and project teams, provide technical guidance, and troubleshoot during development, installation, and commissioning.

Formación

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience as Applications Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or similar.
• Strong mechanical engineering background with automated equipment, custom machinery, or industrial automation systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and equipment requirements.
• Experience developing technical proposals, equipment concepts, cost estimates, or customer-specific engineering solutions.

Responsabilidades

Our client, an established and growing engineering and manufacturing organization, is seeking an Applications Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background and experience working with automated equipment.

• Review customer requirements, technical specifications, and project scopes to develop appropriate engineering solutions for automated equipment applications.
• Work closely with customers to understand operational challenges, equipment requirements, and automation objectives.
• Develop technical proposals, equipment concepts, cost estimates, and quotations based on customer specifications.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Sales, and Project Management teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer expectations.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation to support equipment design and application development.
• Evaluate equipment configurations, mechanical components, and system requirements to determine feasibility and performance.
• Support project planning, technical reviews, and equipment design discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with troubleshooting technical challenges and resolving application-related issues during equipment development, installation, and commissioning.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, functionality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by providing technical guidance, responding to inquiries, and ensuring proposed solutions align with project requirements.
• Stay current with developments in automation technologies, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment applications.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in an Applications Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or similar technical role.
• Strong mechanical engineering background with experience involving automated equipment, custom machinery, or industrial automation systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, mechanical layouts, technical specifications, and equipment requirements.
• Experience developing technical proposals, equipment concepts, cost estimates, or customer-specific engineering solutions.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, machine components, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, sales teams, engineering departments, and project stakeholders.
• Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• A customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance technical requirements, project timelines, and commercial considerations.
• Experience with 3D CAD software and custom automation equipment is considered a strong asset.

Salary Range: $100,000-$125,000 annually
