Application Specialist

Type : Full-time, permanent

Work Arrangement : Hybrid role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Technology, you’ll play a key role in aligning technology solutions with organizational needs. You’ll act as a bridge between business owners, the Business Technology team, users, and vendors. Your responsibilities include analyzing business processes, translating needs into technical solutions, managing COTS applications, and supporting users through training and support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain COTS platforms and applications.
  • Analyze business processes and configure systems to meet needs.
  • Coordinate system change requests and enhancements.
  • Serve as liaison with system vendors, communicating requirements and updates.
  • Perform system updates and ensure seamless implementation.
  • Test new features and updates before deployment.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training and create training materials.
  • Provide ongoing user support and troubleshoot issues.
  • Stay current on COTS and AI developments through vendor communities and forums.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with COTS systems and integrations.
  • Experience with COTS implementation, configuration, and testing.
  • Proficiency in creating end-user training materials.
  • Advanced knowledge of COTS systems and business analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of release planning and new feature implementation.
  • Experience with AI tools for data analysis is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Judgment, initiative, tact, and discretion.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field.

Assets

  • Business Analysis, Change Management, or Project Management certifications.
  • Language skills in French are an asset.
