Job summary

Mazak is seeking an Applications Engineer to cover the province of Alberta. You will work with the sales team on studies, demonstrate Mazak capabilities, and support clients through training, inquiries, on-site visits, and programming assistance.

The role requires CNC machinist and programming experience, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel 25–50% across Western Canada. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
  • Experience as a CNC Programmer and ability to independently program milling machines and lathes.
  • G-Drivers License, with reliable transportation.
  • Minimum: CNC Machinist Diploma or Industry Experience.
  • Security Clearance (nice to have).
  • Forklift and Crane Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Sales team to understand prospective client needs and develops time / process studies, test cuts, product examples, ROI studies.
  • Train clients on Mazak machines use and controls for operator’s optimal utilization of machines.
  • Answer clients and field service technicians’ inquiries by phone and email to help diagnose and repair software related problems on machines, off-site, and on-site.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair.
  • Learn new machines features and accessories as they become available.
  • Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairs completed, software updates, etc.
  • Utilize various software for designing, testing and changing client products and implementing those on Mazak Machines as needed.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair.

At this moment, we need an Applications Engineer to cover the province of Alberta.

You will be focused on:

What are your Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience as a CNC Programmer and the ability to independently program both CNC milling machines and lathes.
  • G-Drivers License, with reliable transportation
  • Minimum: CNC Machinist Diploma or Industry Experience
  • Security Clearance (nice to have)
  • Forklift and Crane Certification

Travelling Requirement: 25 to 50% of the time through Western Canada. Assignments might require overnight or multiple night stay from time to time.
