Job summary

Eclipse Automation Inc. in Cambridge, ON is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our on-site team. You will program CNC milling, lathe, and router equipment using MasterCam, read engineering drawings, and develop 3D programs from surfaces and solids.

The role requires 7+ years of custom machining and Mastercam experience, with additional assets in welding, boring mill, and EDM. You will work under supervision to optimize tooling and production processes and contribute to a collaborative

Qualifications

• Owner of a Certificate of Qualification for a General Machinist or equivalent experience in automation/manufacturing.
• 7+ years of custom machining and Mastercam programming experience.
• Welding, boring mill and EDM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Program CNC milling machines, lathes, and routers using MasterCam.
• Create 3D programs from surfaces and solids.
• Perform 4th and 5th axis programming on CNC mills.
• Execute live tooling and 4-axis lathe programming.
• Build process sheets for material flow.
• Set up and adjust production machinery.
• Assemble components to close tolerances.

Job Title: CNC Programmer/Machinist

The Position:

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the Programmer/Machinist will assist in the development and implementation of machining policies and procedures, liaise directly with other department personnel to ensure project goals are met on budget, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
• Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machine, lathe and router using MasterCam
• Create 3D Programs form surfaces and Solids
• 4th and 5th axis programming on CNC mill
• Live tooling and 4 axis lathe programming
• Build Process sheets for material flow
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
• Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools using Mastercam
• Set up and adjust production machinery
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and or travel as required in varying timelines

What We’re Looking For:

• Candidate is the owner of a Certificate of Qualification for a General Machinist or has demonstrated equivalent experience in a automation/manufacturing environment
• 7+ years of custom machining and programming using Mastercam experience
• Experienced with machining weldments, boring mill experience and EDM experience an asset
