Job summary

Lakeside Process Controls Ltd. in Mississauga, Canada seeks an experienced Application Engineering – Intermediate to understand customer needs, propose suitable automation solutions, and drive bookings growth.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or technologist diploma.
  • Minimum 4+ years in Application Engineering/Inside Sales or similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and advise suitable products.
  • Provide quotations and proposals based on equipment/services selected.
  • Perform performance calculations and troubleshoot issues.

  • Use CRM to track sales activities.
  • Build strong relationships and provide tailored solutions.
  • Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities during discussions.
  • Act as technical liaison via meetings, calls, and email.

What you will be doing in the role of Application Engineering – Intermediate:
  • Working with customers to understand their needs in specific applications, including making recommendations as to which products to use
  • Providing written quotations and proposals to customers based on equipment or services selected
  • Performing necessary performance calculations and analysis, troubleshooting processes or product-related issues
  • Ensuring proper execution of an order from quotation to final shipment
  • Regular follow-up with customers to maximize conversion rate
  • Regular use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track sales activities
  • Build strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities during technical discussions.
  • Act as a technical liaison to customers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and email correspondence.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies that drive bookings growth.
Other Duties
  • Promoting specific product lines
  • Gathering and maintaining competitive intelligence in specific markets
  • Product training in specific types
  • Providing customer education (schools and seminars)
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
  • University Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Technologist Diploma in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 4+ years experience in an Application Engineering/Inside Sales or similar role
