Application Engineer (Automation Equipment)

Hybrid Position

Our long-time client is an industry leading designer and global manufacturer of factory automation equipment used in the Food, Packaging, Ecommerce and Industrial Automation sectors. They operate on a platform of product innovation and operational excellence that continues to eliminate pain points from their customers while increasing simplicity and making them more successful! A highly successful network of industry integrators in this region makes this one of the top performing sectors of their global market! They are also led by some of the most respected and highly experienced leaders in the Automation and Conveying Equipment industry.

What will you be tasked to accomplish?

• Conceptualize, create and price engineered to order solutions and proposals while editing CAD drawings as needed
• Communicate with customers gathering information about their preferences with regard to design solutions
• Travel to customer sites as needed for troubleshooting / technical support for installation and possible repair
• Provide customers with application assistance and guidance as needed via email and / or phone communications.
• 20% travel to customers and trade shows

What you should be able to bring….

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• A minimum of 5 + years of engineering / estimating experience ideally with factory automation equipment or controls
• Familiar with ERP CRM systems preferably with SoildWorks, Sales Force, AutoCad, M2K and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and oral communication skills along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• An understanding of the manufacturing process involving metal fabrication, welding and machining processes
