Job summary

Activision in Montreal, Quebec, is seeking an Animation Programmer to join a small, empowered team on a multiplayer project. You will bridge programming and animation, building systems and tools inside Unreal Engine to enable smooth, realistic character motion.

You will collaborate with animators, gameplay programmers and motion capture specialists, owning technical solutions from rigging to IK and helping optimize performance for real-time online experiences.

Qualifications

• Professional experience with C++ and C#.
• Experience using Visual Studio.
• Strong understanding of 3D mathematics.
• Knowledge of real-time animation systems.
• Experience with animation concepts such as rigging, animation state machines, ragdoll physics, IK, facial animation.
• Understanding of animation tool development.
• Experience optimizing animation systems and workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good attention to detail and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Build animation systems that support modern multiplayer gameplay.
• Develop and maintain animation features inside the game engine.
• Analyze and improve existing animation systems.
• Create tools and workflows to help animators and developers productionise content.
• Collaborate with animators, programmers, motion capture teams and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
