The City of Thunder Bay is seeking a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer II to serve as the primary responder for animal control calls, investigations, and impoundments. You will assist in ensuring compliance with municipal by-laws and provincial statutes, including parking and POA processes.

Under supervision, you will investigate complaints, prepare documents, and collaborate with the team to support enforcement and education efforts. A valid driver’s license and MLEO training are required.

Qualificações

• Requires a Diploma in law enforcement or police studies with MLEO Foundations Training.
• Alternative pathways include Secondary School plus MLEO experience and Foundations Training.
• Three years plus experience in Municipal Parking Enforcement or POA issuance with Foundations Training.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to Animal Control calls and investigations, including bites and impounds.
• Assist in enforcing municipal by-laws and Provincial statutes.
• Follow animal handling protocols and maintain incident records.
• Prepare and serve Provincial Offences Act documents and other notices.
• Collect and preserve evidence for court; attend hearings as needed.
• Provide back-up support and assist with administrative duties.
